Based on the curriculum of the involved subjects of each school, we have developed specific design programmes for social innovation for the schools. The students learnt though the design process, tried to take the initiative to explore, discover and solve different problems, at the end all had genuinely valuable experiences.

The Design Process

  7. Make 製造

Participating Schools

China Holiness College

China Holiness College, all the students of form four joined the pilot run. They firstly based their studies on a topic of livable city from Liberal Studies, for which the teachers are teaching the topic at the same period in the Liberal Studies classes. They started out from their immediate environment, and did site research and experiments in Shamshuipo, actively defined the focus of their projects, and then ideated different future scenarios of livable city.

Lingnan Dr. Chung Wing Kwong Memorial Secondary School

The experience at Lingnan Dr. Chung Wing Kwong Memorial Secondary School was an attempt to cross three different subjects. The students revolved around the topics of marine life and marine waste, tried to connect the knowledge they have learnt from Biology, Mathematics and Liberal Studies classes. The students have visited the WWF Island House Conservation Studies Centre, had a firsthand

experience on how the marine waste would affect the lives in the ocean. Then, under the guidance of ATB Auto Art, they created different upcycling works to tackle the issue.

St. Antonius Girls' College

The experience at St. Antonius Girls' College is a collaboration among Technology and Living, Liberal Studies and Visual Arts. Based on the topic of organ donation, the students visited Hospital Authority Eye Bank, gaining knowledge and information about organ donation. They also interviewed organ donors and beneficiaries, leaping from understanding to empathy, to feel the impact organ donation could bring to a human life. At last, making use of the skills of clothes making they acquired from Technology and Life, the students use the concept of patchwork as metaphor for new organ patching the body, and hoping to raise the awareness and willingness towards organ donation.
